As a physician, it just, maybe they’re not, maybe they’re doctors and not business guys, but it sure seems to me that if they, using your scenario again, the $10 million judgment is granted, is that guy ever going to be able to get professional liability insurance again? It makes no sense to me.

Well, another issue is that the state of Florida does not require doctors to have professional liability insurance.

Really?

It’s true. So some hospitals will require their physicians to have it, not all. And doctors just have to acknowledge that they’ve posted a bond to cover $250,000, but they are not required in the state of Florida to have medical malpractice insurance.

Wow.

So, for example, a lot a lot a lot of people come to Florida Miami in particular for plastic surgery. We have clinics everywhere, right? 99.9% of those doctors and clinics have zero insurance.

For anybody that’s listening to this or anybody that sees this, do your research before you book an appointment with a plastic surgery Center in Florida. Do your research. Find out about the doctors, find out where they’re trained, what their specialty is, look them up, see if they’ve had any cases against them. The same for those centers, it is doing a disservice to reputable plastic surgeons here in the state of Florida.
