That question—how do they get started with estate planning?

What do they do?

Andrew Dósa – Estate Planning Attorney – Tacoma WA and Oakland, CA

Right, well, there are two aspects to that. The first part is you think of three particular questions:

One, what do you have?

Two, who do I love that I want to bless with the things I have?

Three, who are the people that I trust to do those things for me if I can’t?

And then the second aspect of that is pick an attorney you trust.

If you’re not sure how to find an attorney, check around, talk with friends that have already done an estate plan, or talk with attorneys that you know and ask, “Who would you recommend? Who would you trust if it was you?”

That attorney will give you two or three choices, and then you’ll be able to pick the attorney you like. Then you can start working with that person.

That attorney will guide you through the particulars and how you address those first three questions I asked at the beginning of my answer.
