Do you find with technology, I mean, ‘Moore’s law’ is that… And all the computing power will, it used to be double every eighteen months, now, then it went to six months.  And who knows what it is now.  But do you find, with the increasing use of technology in every aspect of business, do you find that that particular crime is increasing?

It is…it’s sad.  It’s the scammers, it’s the fraudulent advertising… it’s the people that are still spoofing people and just saying that your card was charged.  Give us your information so we can make sure we stop it and then wind up charging it.

And there’s the catfishing… people sending out emails to people claiming there’s somebody else.   And hey, I just have my car broken into, and I’ve stranded over here.  Can you, know, wire me or Zelle me 600 dollars…where they’ve hacked into your friend’s email address.  And most people don’t want to call up and say, hey, is this really you?  Before I send you this money, like, oh, no, let me give this money to this person because I want to help them out.

That’s been rampant, but more public notice, more information to people about being careful, about transferring money to anybody, about verifying who they are and whether or not… And even your banks nowadays, they won’t let you just do it.  They’ll ask you again, do you really know this person?  And you check it out.  So, there’s some things in place to help out, but that’s a huge, huge area of fraud and theft.
